Through this unit, I have learned how humans have developed into the creatures that we are today. First, we were fish, then we crawled onto land and became amphibians, then reptiles, then birds, and finally, mammals. We know this sequence through fossil examination and similarities in early development. I learned the role that natural selection plays in evolution, genetic equilibrium, and the fact that gaps in the fossil record show that there is still lots to discover. The "Your Inner Fish" videos helped me to understand evolution easier. After the evolution unit comes to a end, I can conclude that humans are still evolving.
Ecology Unit Refletion
Through the ecology unit, I learned the interaction of organisms with one another. My favorite activity of this unit was the terrarium project, because it allowed me to watch everything happen up close and personal. My favorite activity was the Find a Solution video. I enjoyed learning about the topics. but I did not enjoy making the video. Now that I have learned about human impacts on the environment, my behavior, lifestyle, and activities of the future will change in several ways. I will be more conscious of where I place my trash, I will also volunteer take part in the removal of invasive species, and use my water even more wisely.
